Hello! My name is ABBEY and I am one of the sweetest girls ever. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad since Thanksgiving. I fit right in as soon as I arrived, and I get along well with the two older setters, and even the younger Irish thinks I am an okay girlfriend to have around. The younger Cavalier King Charles thinks I am great fun, and he likes to cuddle up with me. The cats and kittens are my new best friends, too. Everyone thinks that I fit in just fine!
I went to the vet and had a complete check up, bloodwork, and other fun things. I am a larger girl at eighty pounds, which means there is more of me to love! The vet says I'm in excellent health for a ten year old!! I do have a cyst on my right shoulder which may need periodic attention or removal. When the vet drained it, I was perfectly behaved and didn't mind it at all.
I had a hard time getting up from the floor when I first arrived, so the vet gave me some Rimadyl. I am so much happier! I can get up and down with ease, climb steps, run in the yard, and dash across the room when it is mealtime or time for snacks (I love to eat!!!). I sure am glad they have medicine for dogs like me with arthritis!
Although I am very well housetrained, I have had just a few poopie accidents (no pee-pee accidents). We are still working on timing of food and outside for me, but most days I am completely accident-free. Maybe I should be a little more communicative when I need to go out. Of course, doggy doors can be helpful, too!
OMG!! Don't look at the picture of me in the bathtub! I can't believe they put that on my page. Oh, I am sooo embarrassed! I was naked, ya know!!
Crud! Now what was I going to say next? Oh, yeah... Everyone here loves me (and I love them, too), but I really would like my very own forever family. I am quiet and sweet, and I love to be petted on the head (I will nudge you with my nose and remind you to continue if you stop). I am a fantastic blend of the fun-loving and energetic Irish Setter as well as the reliable, easy-going temperamented Golden Retriever.
