Hi! My name is BAILEY and I'm a big girl! I’m four years old and on my own for the first time. I lived with my sister since I was a pup but now I’m discovering my independence. We had a terrific home with a mom who loves us dearly, but she got sick and couldn't take care of us anymore. We know that she did what was best for us, even though none of us wanted things to change.
I love being with people and like to let my foster family know when someone new is coming to the house. I have a bark as big as my heart!
I’m an early riser and love going for walks. I’ve learned good manners like sitting nicely at the door before going out. I’m a little afraid of the dark and didn’t really enjoy this past Fourth of July fireworks thing.
Over the past few years, I put on a few pounds, but the vet says if I keep my head off the kitchen table and stick to 2 cups of quality kibble a day, I should lose the extra weight at a healthy rate. This, and frequent short walks to build my muscle, will help greatly with my hip dysplasia. I have medication for my dysplasia, but haven’t needed it since I've made a few lifestyle changes. Hopefully, I will be able to stay off the meds, even when cooler weather hits, for many years to come.
I get along well with my foster canine sibling CONOR. Occasionally, I try to eat his dinner too….. What can I say? Change is hard and "diet" is a four letter word! I will be a loyal and loving companion for the right forever family!
Fostered by Veronica in MA.
