Hi, my name is BANJO. I am so smart that I bet I could learn to play a banjo! Well, maybe not, but at least I could chew on the strings! I have lots of fun playing with other dogs. They are sooooo much fun!!! They play back, too! No "Dueling BANJO" here... just lots of mouth wrestling and play-bowing!
I bet you are wondering what a handsome boy like me is doing in rescue. Well, the people that owned my Mom and Dad had too many birddawgs, and they knew they couldn't teach all of us youngsters all at once how to be the bestest hunters, so they asked for help. I am very happy cuz now I get to live inside!
I am about eight months old, and I have very good manners for such a young boy. I don't potty in my crate, and I'm quiet as a mouse when it's time to kennel up and go to bed. I am learning about this thing called a leash. It is pretty cool. It keeps your person attached to you, and they go wherever you go! Isn't that neat?
My foster mom says that I am very smart (well, duh!) and is teaching me things like "sit" and "come." I am a quick learner! I am kinda fond of treats, so it's pretty easy to motivate me that way. Of course, we both know that I obey just cuz I want to please my person, and that it has nothing to do with the treats, right?
I do like to borrow things sometimes, and I don't always give them back in the same shape I got them in. I am still a puppy, so my foster mom is patient with me. I am learning what is mine and what is hers.
I like to snuggle and be petted (I am, after all, a Setter), and I give sweet puppy kisses. I will need my new family to help remind me about going outside to potty cuz I'm still a youngster and might forget. I can't comfortably go all day without a potty break, so if you work and can't come home at lunch to let me out, I may not be the right Setter for you. In rescue with Stacy in AR.
