BELLA was picked up as a stray in FL. She is skinny and scared, and is very clingy towards humans. Since she is a found dog, we do have a waiting period for the owner to step forward to reclaim her, which ends on January 10, 2012. She has some rather unusual markings which will need to be described in detail in order for her to be reclaimed. Her owner will also need to provide other proof of ownership such as recent pictures and vet records.

UPDATE 1/11/12: BELLA is now legally ours. She will be going back to the vet to finish with getting in compliance with our protocol. We hope she will be ready for her new forever home by the end of the month.
We previously stated that she has some rather unusual markings. Below are pictures from when we first got her. Note the fairly fresh lacerations on her back and right torso as well as slightly older lacerations and scarring on her head and face. The scarring is pretty much all over her body, though not as obvious as the scarring on her face. We do not know who or what caused the wounds. The scarring is permanent. On the left are the full body pics, with close-ups to the right.
