Hi, we are CHASE and CHANCE, two sisters who have always been together, and we'd like to keep it that way!  We are eight years young, and still quite active.  We love running in the yard with our heads held high. We love... gosh, I could go on forever, but I really should let our foster parents tell you about us, so without further ado...

CHANCE:  A very calm and good-natured gal, though a bit overweight.  We are working hard on trimming down.  We go outside on our three acres several times a day to run around, play, go potty, and do a little training.

Chance never barks, and never gets angry. Well, I should change that.  She gets mad now and then at her sister when she tries to lie down next to her.  Chance sometimes wants her own space.

She gets a bit excited when she goes outside and runs (such as it were) from one side of the yard to the other.  Her head up and smiling, she jogs around and seems to say "Hey, this is cool, I can run as far as I want to!"    She is getting so much better at coming when she is called to either go out, or come back inside.

Chance is the more independent of the two girls.  She never complains about being apart from her sister.  She is much more sedate and content to just lie around.

CHASE:  The more "needy" of the two girls, she whines when her sister is locked in the kitchen to eat.  She wants to lie down immediately next to her sister (and gets a growl for it sometimes).  She will come up and get in your face sometimes to get attention. She seems to be very insecure.  We still occasionally have growls to reinforce the pecking order in the house and if someone tries to nip at her, she screams bloody murder even though they don't touch her.  These episodes are few and far between, but they do still occur.

She is the more inquisitive of the two, and is quite curious about the cat in our house.  She doesn't know how to play with the cat, but follows her around with a quizzical look on her face.  She runs quite well when outside and is the more playful of the two.  She runs around and follows my own two setters when they are exploring as if to try to fit in with them. She has a very tender personality and will take all the attention you will give.

Chase is much more active around the house, in or out, and much more of what I would call a "normal" dog.  Like I said, she is a whiner about the least little thing.  Also, she is not used to slick flooring in the house.  She is in much better shape physically than Chance, but seems to have a bit of trouble with getting her footing on the slick floor.  She has fallen down several times, so when called to go out, she whines because she is afraid to get up and go across the floor.

Both Girls:  Chance and Chase both have no doggy knowledge at all.  Even "NO" is foreign to them.  They are both getting better about responding to their names, which is an improvement.  Neither knows how to play -  not with humans, not with dogs, not with anything.

They have no problems at all with being in the house a lot of the time.  They both wander around very little and are content to lie down and stay there for as long as needed.  We do not crate them, as it has not been necessary. They both had a couple of "accidents" in the house when they first arrived, but none since. They are both also getting better about going to the bathroom at the appointed times in the evening before bed and first thing in the morning.

Both girls have to be locked in the kitchen with their food in order to make them eat at an appropriate time. They get an appropriate amount of food each day and no more.  At first, they both were wary of dog treats (liver or biscuits), but are now responding better to them.  We are teaching them basic commands such as sit, no, go away (when they get in your face for unlimited attention), and come.

They are both incredibly sweet girls.  After they tone up and lose a little weight, and their hair grows out from clipping of all their mats, they will be stunning!
