Hi, my name is CHEVY. I'm very confused about my age. You see, a nice lady bought me from a breeder in Davenport who was advertising puppies on qconlineauction.com and quadcities.kaango.com.  I was supposed to be just four months old, and was for sale for only $50. The ad from qconlineauction is below. Do you think the picture on the ad looks like me?

Well, the nice lady bought me just to get me out of that place. As you can see, I'm not in the best of shape! That's all behind me now. The nice lady brought me to the shelter so they could make me all better and find me a new forever home. The shelter manager felt I was in too bad of shape to fix, so she was going to make me go to sleep. I wasn't even tired!

The shelter staff said I was waaay too sweet, so they contacted SOS, and the next thing I know, I was on my way to the vet clinic, and then to my foster home. I was talking most of the way, but have calmed down since then. It is pretty stressful being carted from here to there, to there, and to here, you know!

I weighed in at 21 pounds. I tested negative for intestinal worms and I've got a great appetite, so it wasn't those things that made me so skinny. What do you think it was?

The vet took a good look at me, and figured me to be between three and four YEARS old! Not only do I have all my adult teeth, but I also have tartar on my molars and on my adult canine teeth. You don't think my breeder lied about my age, do you?

I know I've got it good now (heck, I even get fed on a regular basis - how cool is that?), so I'm pretty clingy with my hoo-man. I don't like it when I can't see her, and will make a ruckus. I'm okay when I can see her or be with her.

I am now learning house manners since I've apparently been kept outdoors and had no clue about pottying away from my living areas. You would think that I would be food motivated, but I haven't been yet. I am too worried about losing track of my hoo-man to really dig in, so I just graze for now. Fostered by Gretchen in IA.

Dear SOS webmaster:

While you've been goofing off, I've been working hard at getting better and learning what it means to be an inside dog.  I sent you three new pictures of me on Jnauary 15th to show you how far I've come.  Do you think you can find time to put them up so I can show everyone what a nice boy I am?

Thanks in advance,

CHEVY
Dear SOS webmaster:

A full week has passed since I last emailed you, and you're still goofing off, I see. What does it take to get some service, anyway?  Here I've been working very hard 24/7, and you just can't seem to find a couple lousy minutes to put up my new pictures.  Get on the stick, webmaster!!
