CODIE JOE
Hi, my name is CODIE JOE and I'm two years old. I have become best buddies with the little boy next door (age 8), but I not too excited about the older boys (ages 9 & 12). I love walks (chasing leaves is the greatest sport ever!). I enjoy spending time in the backyard, but seem to have more fun by myself just smelling the smells than I do with SUE. SUE and I don't play together much, but we do engage in some seriously sneaky toy stealing back and forth.
I am a lap dog. At any opportunity, I will jump up and snuggle in for a lap nap. This makes SUE insanely jealous, and she must immediately occupy the other lap - whether or not it is available at the moment. I am pretty sneaky about scouting to see if anybody is looking, and then streaking across the living room and up on to the couch for better comfort.
I still spend a lot of time in the crate, because I like being in there. I prefer to eat in the crate. When fed side-by-side with SUE, I will rush to finish my food, and then turn and intimidate SUE to get her food.
My foster dad says that overall, I am a great dog. My foster granddad has even broached the subject of keeping me, but dad and grandad decided that fostering has been just too rewarding to adopt a new one at this time. They both agree that I will make a great companion for some lucky family!
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you why I came into rescue! You see, I had a family of my very own, but then something called "foreclosure" happened. I don't know what that is, but it made them all very sad.
Anyway, I am looking for a new family of my very own. I come from solid hunting lines (Brophy), but all I like to hunt is blowing leaves! Minimum four foot fence required.
Fostered by Jim and Mel in MI.
