Hi, my name is GUS and I'm about one year old. My foster mom says that I'm adorable, but that I don't like to pose for the camera (as you can see). I don't mind having my picture taken in my favorite "still" pose - the belly rub!!! I made SOS put in a picture of me getting a belly rub so that my new forever home knows at least one of the many acceptable techniques.
I was found running around downtown Metter, GA for weeks (maybe months). I was a slippery one, avoiding capture until they set a live trap. All-in-all, I was in pretty good shape considering. I did test positive for Lyme Disease, but never had any clinical signs and was treated for one month with Doxycycline.
I am quite fashionable, sporting tattoos in both ears. For some reason neither the big dogs nor the little dogs are impressed, though. The cats here really don't care about much of anything. Since they don't like to play much, I just leave them alone.
I'm a medium energy dog as long as I get to burn off energy regularly. If I don't get to burn off energy, I get bored. That's when I get into Irish mischief. Most of the time, I just borrow things like shoes (Hint: if something is missing, look in another part of the house. I like to make it challenging!) I have been known to chew softer items like panty hose and socks. Doggy beds are a little more challenging, but doable. Stuffies are fun to play with if I have had my exercise, and are meant to be destroyed if I am bored.
Speaking of borrowing and chewing, I believe that snacks that are left on the table or countertop, even if still in the wrapper, were left there for little ol' me (but only if I want them).
My ideal home would have a fenced yard so that I can run to my heart's content, a rough-and-tumble doggy playmate that likes to wrestle and play chase, and lots of human hugs (belly rubs mandatory).
