Hi!  I am HOPE and I am a sweet cuddlebug of a dog. I get along with all dogs - from little to big - and will snuggle with any of them on the big dog bed. Did you know that you can fit three Irish setters on one Great Dane dog bed?

I play with most of the dogs here. I like to wrestle with the big guy (who says an eight year old Setter is old?), but I am very gentle with the little one.

I am rather timid until I am sure things are safe. By timid, I mean that I will just sit and wag the tip of my tail (loudly) and squint my eyes until you come over and pet me.

I am okay with cats. One cat here is interesting to me sometimes, but there is a mean bugger that I don't even look at out of the corner of my Irish eye.

I am very good with kids and love the attention they lavish upon me. Of course, I deserve every bit of attention I get.  I am, after all, sweet and gorgeous!

I will tell you if I am extra hungry and you are not preparing the meal fast enough for my liking, and I will lend my voice if others are barking. I think I sound fierce, but my foster mom says I am the sort who would invite a burglar in for a tummy rub (mine, not his) rather than be protective. I dunno - I've never had a burglar try to steal my dinner bowl.

I am okay in cars, though I prefer to be a homebody. I overheard my foster mom telling somebody that I am happy-go-lucky and a dear to have around. I'm starting to worry about her. I watched Rudolph on TV, and if she can't tell an Irish Setter from a deer...

I was quite the hit with all the human guests at Christmas, along with my half-sister Faith. We just hung out on the dogbed while the chaos moved around us. We barely even opened our eyes, which made our foster mom think we could sleep through anything.

So that's me in a nutshell - HOPE - hopin' for a forever home of my very own!!!
