Hi, my name is Katie. I ended up in the shelter because my family could no longer afford to care for me properly, and they wanted only the best for me. Thankfully, they took me to a shelter that knows SOS through prior placements, and the staff was so happy to hear from SOS - this time about little ol' ME!!
So, here I am in a foster home... nice place, but I know it's not my new home. Fortunately, the foster folks are okay with snuggling, cuz that's what I do best! The other dogs are okay and I get along fine with them - I just don't really need them. I can play all by myself and be happy doing so. As for companions for me, I prefer humans!
My favorite activity is to run in the yard as fast as I can, and then come inside and hop up on the couch with my foster mom for a snooze while being petted. There is no such thing as too much petting!
At my old home, I slept every night with my child friend. I sleep now in bed with my foster mom and dad. My foster mom says I snore, but I have never heard me snore, so I think she is making it up! She must be confusing me with that foster dad person. After all, I am a very petite, delicately featured little girl, very much a lady in the house, and I do NOT snore!
From the foster mom: Ah, my petite little Princess, you do snore a bit. However, it is an easy thing to overlook since all your other wonderful attributes overshadow this one tiny issue. Maybe a home with several humans who snore would be best, as they would never hear your snoring over their own!
Katie is a very sweet, precious little red girl. She has been very good while loose in the house so far, even unsupervised. She is very well housetrained and she uses the dog door to take herself out to potty and to play. She stays inside the fence and does not appear to be a jumper or escape artist. She has been a very quiet girl except for... well, you know. I have not heard her bark yet, but that can change as she becomes more comfortable in her foster home.
What will not change is that Katie is so very affectionate and loving. She will be an ideal companion for someone who snor... er, I mean someone who enjoys cuddling with their redhead, but also likes an athletic companion who loves to run full-tilt in order to burn off some excess energy.
Fostered by Becky and Robin in KS.
