Hi, my name is MAGGIE and I am five years old. I wasn't feeling very good for these pics, but am on the mend. If you look closely, you can see where I have some nasty scratches and a puncture wound as well as a few patches of hair missing. My foster mom has promised to take new pictures of me when I am all better!!
I am a great all-around girl: smart, cute, very sweet, and loving. I am good with cats, small dogs, and people of all ages from tiny tots to more mature folks. I was surrendered to a shelter because when the little ones in the house left the front door open, I would run through it and into the street. My family loved me, but didn't know how to stop this from happening so they gave me up so I wouldn't get hurt... or worse. My former owner told the shelter folks that I am used to living with all sorts of pets such as hamsters, bunnies, cats, and other dogs.
I am perfectly house trained and quiet inside, loving to cuddle up on a soft bed for a snooze. I sleep with my foster parents at night (with the rest of the pack) and am doing fine. I learned how to use the doggy door in a few tries, and I have the house routine down pat in under twenty four hours! I told you I'm a smart girl!
I have been trying to figure out about those "giant Irish Setters" grazing in the pasture adjoining the yard. Mom told me that they are Quarter Horses. Quarter, my paw!!! They look whole to me!! And they are red. No wonder I am a bit confused! I run out and bark at them, but they don't bark back. Very disturbing, to say the least! I do stop barking at them when told to be quiet, but I give Mom a look as if to say, "Well, okay - but don't say I didn't warn ya
about these monsters!"
I am a semi-active girl and would love to have such a family to play with, cuddle with, and to love on me. A nice back yard to romp in, walks on a leash, and a comfy bed to sleep in would be just the ticket. I have lots of love and sweet and kisses to give to my new forever family!! Fostered by Becky in KS.
