Hi!!! My name is MAGGIE, and I am a typical mischievous, lovable, energetic, huggable, and kissable nine month old Irish Setter pup. I love to play and run around having fun. Since I am an "into everything" pup, I need to be supervised at all times, and crated when I can't be supervised.
I have been known to counter surf, and will also pull things (especially if yummy or smelly) out of the garbage can. My foster family is helping me to learn manners, though. I am learning about "off" (I do love to jump up and greet people face-to-face). I know the commands "sit" and "go", and practice those when we play fetch outside. I will sit and watch for the ball or rope to be thrown, but won't move until I am given the command "go" to chase after it and pick it up. I'm not very good at all with "come" to bring it back. What can I say? It is more fun that way!!
I love the kids in my foster family (ages 8, 6, & 3), and want to be with everyone at all times. I do have a touch of separation anxiety, so it would be best to crate me when no one is home so I don't get into any trouble.
I also love to play with other dogs, so a dog buddy or two would be great! From time-to-time I will sit still. I especially like to spend some quiet time with my humans.
Oh, I almost forgot!! In case you're wondering about that little heart on my lead pic that says "HOD", that stands for Hyperosteotrophic Dystrophy. Basically that means that some bones in my legs grew too fast. I got an A++ on my last check-up, but the folks at SOS said I had to tell you about it anyway.
