Hi, my name is MANDY and I'm nine years young.  My foster mom says I act much younger than my age.  That must be because I bounce around a lot!!!

I am very outgoing and friendly with everyone.  I'm happy to get butt scratches (those are my favorite!!).  I also like to sleep in bed with the humans, and I don't wait to be invited, either!

I love to go for rides, and am pretty good on lead.  I am very well-behaved in the house, and will crate up on my own if the bed is not available when I am ready for a nap.

I am fine with other dogs, though I don't interact with them much.  Humans are much more to my liking!!  Fostered by Alissa in TN.

MANDY
Update 2/6/09:  On Saturday, we made a special trip to the vet to get started as soon as possible on ear meds.  While under anesthesia, the vet did a deep cleaning of MANDY's right ear.  It will take several weeks of oral antibiotics as well as ear flushes and drops before her we make significant progress.  Surprisingly, the eardrum is still intact!

SOS does a geriatric panel on each and every senior.  The results tell the vet a lot about what is going on with their bodies.  In addition to telling the vet if something is wrong, the report provides a baseline against which future test results can be measured.  We always provide a copy of the report to the adopter, resulting in savings to the adopter well in excess of the adoption fee!

The vet found a mass adjacent to one of MANDY's ovaries.  The entire specimen has been sent to the lab for histopathy.  Results should be back in about a week.  Please keep your paws crossed that it is simply a cyst.

Update 2/11/09:  Lab results just came in - bloodwork and SuperChem couldn't be better!  The histo showed the mass to be a cyst adenoma - benign!  YAAAAAYYY!!!!!
