Hi, my name is MELANIE and I'm a seven year old California girl. I'm game for living in any state as long as there are people there who love me as much as I love them. You see, I was once a Princess, and lived as an Irish Setter should. Mom had to go to heaven, and Dad had to go to an assisted living place. That's how I became an orphan.
My foster mom says I would make an excellent therapy dog, whatever that is. I'm very experienced in being gentle with older folks. I sit and bow my head for pets when I meet people. I don't jump up on them, and I don't jump on the furniture, either.
Other dogs make me a bit nervous because I was attacked once and I had to defend myself. That isn't something a Princess like me should ever have to do! The SOS folks promised me that I can be the only dog in my new forever home so that I don't have to be afraid.
I like to chase cats, but when my foster mom tells me "no", I listen. Other than that I'm a gentle, laid back girl who would make a good companion for someone who's not into all the drama a puppy can generate, and who will love to be with me as much as I want to be with my people.
In addition to being very well-behaved in the house, I haven't had any accidents. Lest you think I'm perfect, there is a rumor going around that I countersurf. Well, what do you expect? I am, after all, a surfer girl in good ole SoCal.
