Hi, my name is MISSY and I'm about two years old. I'm on medical hold due to heartworm disease, but I should be ready for adoption around the end of August.

I'm a cute and petite girl, which is good since I am high energy! My foster home is trying to teach me to not jump on people, but I am doing my level best to not learn that lesson! Before I started treatment, I would get excited and start jumping up and down like a pogo stick. For a little girl, I sure can jump pretty high! My foster mom was threatening to get x-rays of my rear legs cuz she says there must be springs in them!

I get along great with the other dogs here, but can be growly when they come near my crate when I am eating or trying to sleep.  I play well with the others, but am fine all by myself as well. I've not had a lot of time outside the crate since I started treatment, so my foster mom can't tell you how I am when left loose in the house. I've not tested the fence, but at least four feet would be best since I can jump so high.

I really like people a lot!  I'm very friendly, and I think anytime is a great time for petting and snuggling! I do pull on lead, but we've been working on that.  We'll get lots of practice over the next month or so while I finish up dealing with these nasty ol' heartworms.
