Hi, my name is NOLA and I'm four years old. I come from the Springset lines, which are smaller and more active than the show lines.
SOS spoke with Laura at Springset, and learned that I had a virus when I was a puppy that left me legally blind. I can see some movement, but that's about all. My other senses have compensated for my vision issues, so I can smell trouble a mile away (not really, but almost!!).
I sure hasn't slowed me down one bit, though. Do you see me with my toy and out on the long lead? I've learned to stay out of trouble when out of my familiar environment by listening (I know - odd for a Setter, but it can happen!). When I hear "careful", I proceed with caution. Of course, in my familiar environment, I'm a pro. That is, of course, if you don't rearrange the furniture on me!
I get along well with other dogs and am fine with kids, too. I've not yet been introduced to cats. I do like to snuggle!!!
Springset would take me back, but they are comfortable with SOS finding me a new home, and that's the goal. Fostered by Phil in OK.
