Hi, my name is O'BRADY and I'm about five years old. The folks at SOS first learned about me in the early spring of 2010 when they got a call from Linda in Marietta GA about a dog hiding in the woods. I was too afraid to come up to anyone and I eluded capture for several months. Finally, David caught me and I am so happy that he did!
Other than needing to put on a few pounds, I checked out well at the vet. I was someone's housedog at one point, as I have good house manners, know basic commands, and am even cat friendly.
I've been having lots of fun with my foster family. They know about tennis balls and playing chase! I like the other redhead that lives here, and we run around together a lot. When we are all worn out, we sleep together on his oversized dog bed (though he does have to remind me that I only get half).
I am an average size Irish Setter, weighing in at 63.5 pounds. My coat is extremely silky and soft, and with a little daily brushing (which I love), it's very easy to maintain. I am very loving, loyal, and passionate about humans of all kinds (though I favor children and seniors). I love human companionship, and any love shown to me is reciprocated a thousand fold. I love car rides and long walks. I am leash trained and do not pull. I am eager to please, and look back to my human to make sure I am doing as desired.
I love playing with tennis balls and pull ropes. Chasing the ball is a great way of keeping me fit and mentally alert. Playing catch with a ball or Frisbee is fun, too. After playtime, I enjoy a bowl of ice to cool off or simply as a treat. For my safety, I do require a minimum four foot fence.
My house manners are impeccable. I am calm and completely satisfied with laying by my human’s feet for a nap. I am housetrained and will always let my human know when I need to go outside. Fostered by Larry in TN.
