Hi, my name is OBIE and I'm three years old. OBIE is short for OBEDIAH, and although I know both my names, I prefer OBIE.

My foster mom says that I am a wonderful dog to have around the house. I get along great with all the other dogs, and I have no interest in the cats. In fact, if that mean cat with the motor is blocking the hallway I sometimes stand and whine for help so I can get to my bed. I don't like crates and will tell you so, but I am so very good loose in the house that I have not needed one since the first day.

Sometimes I have an expression that makes me look very serious. My foster mom says I am thinking. Glad she noticed! I  think so hard sometimes about what she is saying that I turn my head sideways so the words can get in my ear better!

I like walks and am learning not to pull on the leash so much. I like to go out and play in the yard, but not for long, as I am really more interested in where my people are than whether the other dogs want to play.

My foster mom says it was hard to put an activity level on me. While I have a bounce in my walk and I like to play, I am also such a good couch potato and cuddle buddy. I like to spend the evening in my foster dad's lap, and then we go up to bed and get even more sleep! I get to sleep on the bed cuz I take up just a little corner., Sometimes when that wake up box starts yelling at 0-dark-thirty, someone has to really play with my ears to get me to wake up, go outside, and also get breakfast (then I go back to bed with the kids 'til the sun really does come up).

I love food, and will sometimes put my head on your knee so I can look at YOUR food with love and adoration as well. I am learning to play fetch. I retrieve better in the house. When outside, I tend to wait for you to chase me, but I am learning from the redhead that bringing it back makes the fun last longer.

I am okay riding in cars though I don't love them. I generally curl up in my seat and close my eyes (you would, too, if you rode with my foster mom!). Closing my eyes does keep me from telling her how to drive. I have gotten carsick, but it was those pesky horseshoe curves that did me in, I sware!

I am not really interested in birds or the horses. In fact, when I saw a deer I just slowly walked across to where it had been (it left in a hurry!), and then I slowly pointed. Look, Mom! Then I went about my business.

I have to go to the dog-ter and get my treats (treats??really?), and then I will be ready for a forever home (though my foster mom says she doesn't care if I find one or not). Gosh! She must have figured out already just how special I am!
