Hello... hello... is anybody there? Oh, hi! How are you doing? My foster mom and dad asked me to tell you about myself. Well, let’s see... my name is PUMPKIN. Everyone says it’s a really cute name. I kinda like it, too! I always come when I hear my name. You never know when treats will be involved, ya know!!
I’m easy going and relaxed. I’m cuddly and warm in bed (that’s if you have room for a 73 pound fur kid!). I really don’t know why my first family didn’t want me any more. They left me at one of those shelter places. That was one day before my fourth birthday! Can you believe it??? I was really looking forward to a party and a new toy.
My foster parents are taking extra good care of me. They have a big yard with a tall fence so I can’t get lost. I run through the yard and love to feel the wind lift my long hair and big floppy ears. Then I walk down the steps into the swimming pool and take a swim to cool off. My foster dad plays ball and Frisbee with me which is fun! I get so worn out from play that I sleep through the entire night.
I run and cuddle when I get scared, especially when it is stormy. Face it, lightning and thunder storms are scary, and the Tampa area gets a lot of storms in the summer. I didn’t like to be left alone either, but all of a sudden it’s like magic, I’m not scared anymore.
I enjoy my four-legged siblings. They are Irish Setters, too! They are a lot of fun to play with. They aren't as good as me at obeying commands like Sit, Lay Down, No, and Come, but I'm working on training them. I even know how to ring the sleigh bells on the door to ask to go out to potty. During the day, I will nudge my leash when I want to take a walk around the neighborhood. I’m a good walker, too. Oh, I almost forgot... I love to ride in cars!
So, are you thinking about adopting me? That’s great! I have to warn you though - my foster parents are really, really picky.
