Hi, my name is RED and I'm nineteen months old. I love people! I am a little bewildered about leaving the horse farm I was raised on, but my foster mom is proud of how well I have adapted to her big family. I am happy as a clam as long as you give me hugs and kisses. I love everyone! I have found a really neat trick-if that hand that pets is not busy and is hanging at someone's side, I can stand under it, I can sneak pets without them even knowing! I LOVE pets and hugs! I will sit in front of you and ask you to pet me with my paw. If you say no, I'll go away (but I'll be back!)
I get along great with other dogs - all sizes and ages. I am gentle as a lamb with pups and I love kids. I don't really want to fetch a ball, but I do like to romp after the dog that does! I like lots of exercise, but I settle right down when I come in. When inside, I will just follow along and assist you with your chores. I am mildly interested in cats, but just to sniff and see if they are as cool as me. Usually, I just ignore them - especially if there is lovin' involved elsewhere! Obviously, I have no issues with horses.
I am learning to walk on a leash. There was not much need for that when I was just hanging around the farm. I pull a little, but I am learning. I am not used to riding in cars. My foster mom says I look pathetic, but I don't jump around (cuz I am sitting looking pathetic - maybe they will pet me). She says I need to deveop my "sea legs", whatever that means.
My foster mom is very proud that I am so good with my new experiences in that wire thing she calls a crate. She says 'crate', and I am learning to go in and get my treat! I like treats, and did I mention I love pats on the head? I am also getting used to using a crate when I hafta. I can sit and lie down on command. My foster mom had trouble taking my pic cuz she said 'sit' and I did... and every time she stepped back to take that pic, I sneaked up and sat again. Pet me! I happen to know that a frontal close-up is my best 'side'. Then you can see my smiley face!
