SHAMROCK
I’ve been named “Shammie” (short for Shamrock) because I was lucky to be rescued by my Foster Mom.  I was seen walking along a very busy highway in 103 degree heat.  I must be a good luck charm because Mom and I both survived me crawling up into her lap in the middle of the highway.  Thankfully, neither of us got run over, and that’s how I came to be named Shamrock.

The vet says that I’m still a puppy of 9 months or so.  I’m more ES in personality but have the puppyish energy and smarts of a Smooth Coated Border Collie.  I’m a little underweight right now and should be about 50 pounds when I finish growing.  I was a really good girl about the blood tests, scrapings, and such and I just laid down and let the clinic folks do their thing.  Dr. Ron says I’ll be ready to go to my new home soon.

I don't get along at all with my canine sisters and brothers.  I don’t know how I’ll do around cats.  I’m not at all interested in horses or goats.  I’m really great with children and would love someone to play tug-of-war with me.  I love my stuffed toys, too.   I really I love my humans and follow them whenever I can!

Mom has me crate trained already (I’m really good at this) and I keep my crate clean all night.  I learned “Bed" really fast because I get a really good snack!!  I’m learning about letting Mom know I have to go out, and something called “Off”.  Oh, I’m learning that I have to “Sit” when Mom puts my leash on because I bounce around a lot if I don't sit.  What can I say - I'm a puppy!!

Cars are still kinda scary, but I’m learning that they are okay, cuz I’m NOT going to be dumped and left to fend for myself ever again.  I’m starting to understand that I’m now safe and loved, and it sure feels good!!!!

I’m hyper but sweet, and I want a family of my very own who can give me lots of love, gentle care, and tons of fun playtime.  I do not play well with other dogs, so if you have active kids who can play with me and enough toys and balls to keep me occupied, I would do best as an only dog.  Since I'm still a puppy, I must go to obedience school so can I learn how to be even better than I already am!!

If you have a lap available, I’m there!  Please fill out an application form and mention my name.  I’ll be sure that SOS gets back with you.  Fostered by Ann in TX.
