Hi, my name is SHAMUS and I'm seven years old. Aren't I handsome? I was surrendered to SOS by my owner/breeder when she had to move suddenly to take care of her parents. I come from excellent lines.

I had my check-up the other day, and have some dental issues that need attention. The vet said the word "extractions", and I wanted outta there! When they do the dental and the neuter, the vet is also going to address a sty that might be a potential issue down the road. It's better to get it while it is small and before it starts presenting a problem since I have to undergo anesthesic procedures anyway. All-in-all, my vetting will run about $1000. OUCH!

I get along well with other dogs. I am fine with cats (not that I wouldn't chase one that is running away from me, mind you) and am good with kids, too. I am just a great big loverboy! Sometimes I want to be a lapdog, but it is hard to find a lap big enough for me! The owners of the laps I select aren't always too keen on having my nearly 100 pound self on their lap, either.

I walk well on lead, and am people-oriented. I probably would not be trustworthy off-lead, so a home with a fence is required. I also will require daily brushing for my long coat, and professional grooming every few weeks.

I love being loved on! Other than lifting my leg one time inside, I have exhibited no bad behavior in my foster home. Fostered by Terry in CA.
