Hello, my name is SHELBY. I am seven years old and as you can see I am very handsome! I've got a secret!! Promise not to tell? Okay - my foster mom says I'm one of her favorites! I'd hate for the other Setters to be jealous, cuz they are nice, too.
I'm pretty calm most of the time, and have almost no bad habits. I don't know very many commands, but am eager to please, and really love peanut butter and other treats. Mom says I will be very easy to train.
I don't care to interact with the other Setters, as I prefer to be the apple of my Mom's eye. As long as they don't get in my face, I'm fine with that. Sometimes they run into me, and that is okay, but if they try to climb over me while I'm resting on the doggy bed, I will fuss a little. I just don't want to get stepped on.
Mom laughs at my gentleman ways, though I don't understand why. When she is ready to go to bed, I'll hop down so that I am not in the way. I'll hop back up when she is settled, and will snuggle if invited. If she moves even a little, I'll hop down again so she can get comfortable without me being in the way.
I'm starting to enjoy toys, but am not sure about playing with them other than by myself. If Mom dangles a toy in front of me, I'm not likely to grab it and play with it. However, if she throws it, I'll generally go after it and play with it by myself for a little while.
I am very curious about those little boxes at the clinic that say "meow". I've never seen anything like it, and cock my ears and tilt my head. Mom will test me on those odd creatures later. She doesn't think I'd do anything to hurt one, but we do need to check it out. Fostered by Alissa in TN.
