Hi, my name is STAR and I'm a very pretty four year old setter girl as you can see from my pictures. I am learning to trust my foster mom - she watches out for me so I don't bump my noggin. She tells me "'watch out" and I know to slow down when we go for walks in the neighborhood.
I am very birdy, even though I can't see them. They smell yummy, though, and I can hear them quite well. I am learning to trust, and am already pretty comfortable with my foster mom even though I have been here less than a week. I am overall a very happy girl and am quite typical of a four year old, complete with lots of kisses and hugs, and I will even smile!
I need to build some muscle, so my foster mom and I and sometimes my big brudder (he's Irish, too) go for lots of walks. When I get used to that, we are going to incorporate jogging. My foster mom and I both are gonna be lookin' good soon. Truth be told, I've sat in her lap, and I think she needs the exercise more than I do!
I like walking with my big brudder. He is nine, but he doesn't act it! I have to hurry to keep up with him. I really like him, cuz he smells and feels handsome, plus he tastes a lot like red dog hair (just like me), so he must be handsome! You may think "Yuk!", but I have to rely on my other senses since I am blind, and my other senses work far better than those of sighted dogs. I need a doggy to be with me, especially when I don't have human company, and am okay with cats.
I am learning that my foster mom guides me with the leash, and I am careful to pay attention cuz I know that she can see things I can't. Sometimes I get tangled in my leash, so whoever I go to live with "furever" will need to be patient with me on this.
I am a little nervous when I hear a car, and I got scared the other day when a trash truck went by us. My foster mom told me it was okay, and then I was fine. I just needed some reassurance from her.
I am a little picky about my food. I love to have some canned mixed with my kibble. A princess has to make her demands, right? I like to be petted and have my ears scratched. I will bump your arm if I think you are not paying enough attention to me, but I'm not in the least bit spoiled. Okay?
