TAHOKA
I was rescued in an area of Texas that use to be Comanche territory.  When Mom first saw me, she knew I really was in “deep water”, so Mom named me Tahoka which means “deep water” in Comanche.

I’m home now after spending five days at the clinic.  They had to clean all the wood and metal fencing out of my intestines, which wasn't any fun at all.  The vet thinks I’m around two years old.  With lots of veterinary know-how, time, and lots of love, I’ll be a beautiful Tri-color English Setter boy again, and I can hardly wait!  I’m on kennel rest, limited exercise, lots of baths each week, and high test food several times a day, along with medications, but will be well enough to get off that yucky stuff soon!

I like to sleep under Mom’s desk, and I have a favorite red rubber ball that I take with me everywhere.  So far, I’ve been really quiet around my fur sisters and brothers, and I’m really good in my crate.  I tire easily since I am still recovering, but I’ll be back to my old active self in no time!!  If you would like to write to me, just email SOS at info@saveoursetters.org and I’ll have my foster Mom get back with you.  Fostered by Ann in TX.

UPDATE:  In a nutshell, if a dog can get it, I had it.  Okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but I had so much wrong with me, it's a wonder I am still here!  Thank goodness I have a very good vet helping Mom take good care of me and get me well.

My foster mom is so proud of me!  I've gained 20 pounds!!  Woo-Hoo!!!!  Only 20 more to go!
